Physician Assistant

Description:

Algone is in need of a highly motivated Physician Assistant to provide medical care to patients in our multidisciplinary facility. We are a busy practice with three locations: Wasilla, Anchorage, and Juneau. We are pioneering a new approach to pain management and are looking to recruit professionals who share our values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Knowledge.

At Algone we specialize in interventional, regenerative, and physical medicine. We utilize a wide range of minimally-invasive surgical and non-surgical techniques to reduce the impact of chronic pain on our patient’s lives. 

Job responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
*Perform physical exams
*PA’s must be comfortable using computers
*Singing off chart notes along with accurate charting
*Taking call on a rotating schedule
*Educating patients and staff
*Adhere to state, federal and local legal practices
*Interact with a variety of personalities
*Coordinate care between providers
*Coordinate procedures with Physicians 
*Perform in office injections and medication management
*Telemedicine
*Limited travel between clinics

PA Qualifications
*Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program 
*Current licensure or Eligibility to practice as a PA in Alaska
1-2 years experience required, exceptional students may be considered
*Pain Management experience highly preferred

Office Manager (Juneau Location)

Reports to: Practice Administrator, Chief Executive Officer

Supervises: All Site Staff 

Overtime Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary: 
Responsible for onsite clinic operations and personnel oversight. Responsible for the enforcement of clinic policies and procedures. Responsible for communicating site updates and needs to executive management. Performs tasks and duties of a medical receptionist.

Major Responsibilities/Tasks:
*Oversees daily office operations. Identifies and resolves operational problems.
*Supervises all site personnel. Reconciles site employee time sheets and maintains leave records. 
*Assists with interviewing, hiring and training of site staff.
*Maintains provider schedules
*Participates in professional development efforts to ensure currency in health care practices and trends.
*Performs other related duties as directed or required.
*Maintains patient confidentiality. 
*Medical Reception, Insurance Prior Authorizations, New Patient Coordination
*Address patient concerns and communicate to Practice *Administrator when warranted.
*Foster a positive working atmosphere in assigned office
*Communicate Physician input and concerns to executive management

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two-four years medical office operations, including customer service, and insurance authorization experience. 

KNOWLEDGE: 
*Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures. 
*Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices. 
*Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
*Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to communicate in written format.
*Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.

SKILLS:
*Skill in effective personnel management including training staff. 
*Skill in troubleshooting insurance problems.
*Skill in creating and maintaining a positive work environment 

ABILITIES:
*Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians, administration, and staff. 
*Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
*Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and direct the work of others.
*Ability to communicate effectively with billing department to troubleshoot claim problems and recommend solutions.
*Ability to interpret and understand insurance benefits and reimbursement.
*Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
*Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.

Equipment Operated: 
Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment: 
Work requires hand dexterity for office machine operation, stooping and bending to files and supplies, mobility to complete errands, or sitting for extended periods of time. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 20 pounds. Occasionally work environment may be very stressful.

Mental/Physical Requirements: 
Normal office environment. May view computer screens for long periods of time. 

Salary Range: 35k-45k DOE
